Went out and canvassed for Peggy Nash again this evening. This was my second time getting off my butt and spreading the New Democrat Party word and it was just as rewarding as last time (and it got me out of the house a record-breaking third time this week.)

As the election draws near, more people seem to be edging closer to a decision. But there are still many who are undecided or just don’t care. That’s fine. There’s still time. And from what I hear from the TV, hockey season is over, so the puckheads of the nation can start thinking about another great Canadian past time: democracy. My canvassing tonight even got me volunteered to help out on election day. I’ll be going door to door again, getting other people off their lazy butts to vote (well just the ones that told us they’re voting NDP, the others can sleep in if they like.) And if I’m really lucky, I might even get to watch the elections officials count the ballots. Isn’t democracy a beautiful thing?

ed's back and he's fightin' mad And speaking of beautiful things: Ed Broadbent has been back in politics for a few months now, but now he’s keepin’ it real with a new video. Nothing gets the young vote more than rap music. It’s so bad, it’s good and he gets my vote. You can watch the video in Quicktime or Windows Media or RealPlayer but just make sure you watch it.

This weekend I’m lucky enough to be heading to BookExpo Canada. It’s only the second time that I’ve been, but Douglas Rushkoff’s recent experiences describe the bookexpo book grab perfectly.

I’m just there for a story, honest.
