Since returning to Toronto, I’ve really felt re-energized and more outgoing. Normally, I’m a true hermit, who would prefer the company of my partner and a good movie. But that’s changed lately and I give blogging some of the credit.

Blogging has allowed me to speak my mind here and on other blogs, allowing me to work my way back into conversations with people (if that makes any sense.) Online dialogues have given me the desire to take them further and actually *gasp* go outside and meet some other real human beings.

Last week, I met Tony from ClickableCulture. We had a great time, found out we had much in common and talked about many things well beyond the geek/blogging starting point. It felt good to put a face to the blog and even better to know that I’ve made a new friend.

And this afternoon, I’m off to have coffee with Debbie, who is an online veteran and an a source of inspiration to any writer. Her blog, Blatherings, is just one of her many online projects, past and present. I’m an old subscriber to Inkspot, her great writing website that fell victim to the online crash. Read the Inkspot Epilogue here. But Inkspot’s demise hasn’t stopped Debbie from offering her wisdom to writers. If you have any writing desires burning away in you, I highly recommend that you check out Inkygirl, Debbie’s weblog for writers. It’s full of market resources and other great writer treats.

Okay, I’ve to go and get ready. What do people wear when they go outside?
